It’s awesome that you can specify for every invoice line item. But these taxes does not show up in the PDF version of the invoice.

How can I edit ##INVOICE-LINE-ITEMS##, so the tax is shown PER item?

    Hi @connectcase,

To enable tax on Jetpack CRM Invoices, you just need to make sure you have ‘Use Tax’ checked in your Jetpack CRM Invoice Builder settings:

    https://kb.jetpackcrm.com/knowledge-base/is-it-possible-to-have-two-different-tax-rates-on-the-invoices/#first-enable-tax-on-invoicing

And then, you can add/edit custom tax rates:

    https://kb.jetpackcrm.com/knowledge-base/is-it-possible-to-have-two-different-tax-rates-on-the-invoices/#adding-editing-tax-rates

Once you’ve done that, you can use the default Invoice builder to add tax per line item, like below:

    https://d.pr/i/QoVSHT

And, you can export the invoice as a PDF by clicking “Download PDF” button on the top right corner of the invoice builder page.

Hi @bluejay77, sorry for the late reply.

Your explanation shows how to add tax per item in the Invoice Builder, but not in the Invoice PDF, which is what I am after.

    Hi @connectcase,

Have you tried to use the Invoice Builder and get a PDF of the invoice? If that doesn’t render the tax per items in the PDF, there might be something else that’s conflicting within your system. Can you please temporarily deactivate all your plugins (apart from Jetpack CRM) and check if the problem gets fixed that way? If it works, then reactivate each plugin one by one to find out which one is causing problems.

If nothing changes, we’ll investigate further on that. Let me know what you find out!

Yes, I have tried the invoice builder. In the invoice builder itself, I see 5 columns:

    description, hours, rate, tax, amount

When I press “Download PDF”, I get a PDF with 4 columns:

    description, hours, rate, amount

The colum “tax” is not in the PDF……

I don’t think this has got anything to do with other plugins, but since this is a test setup only Akismet is present.

    Hi there, @connectcase,

I tested it on my CRM, and the tax amount appears right before the total amount due, before the subtotal and any potential discount.

In other words, the tax in the invoice (and its PDF) is displayed not as an “item” in a column, but within the amount due:

    Screen Shot

In this screenshots, my taxes are called “Finland”.

Do you see that on your end too?

Yes, I can see that (and emulate it as well), but the question was tax “PER LINE ITEM”.

So I want the tax shown in the same line as “Belt (#22)”, not in the totals-column

    Hi @connectcase,

Thanks for the clarification here. As you noted, although taxes can be applied per item, they do not display per item when you view the invoice on web or PDF.

Unforuntely, Jetpack CRM doesn’t support displaying per-item tax like this. I created a feature request on your behalf to allow this feature, though we don’t have an ETA.

In the meantime, if this is a must-have feature for you, this may be possible via custom development. It’d be quite an involved process to create a custom invoice placeholder that displays per-line tax value and create custom invoice template to include the custom placeholder. When pursuing custom development like this, you’ll have to ensure that your customizations are not overwritten on each CRM updates, either. This level of custom development is outside the scope of our support, I’m afraid.

    Understood!

I was indeed thinking I’ll do it myself, but if there’s not a hook for it, I will have to hack into the core code, which I always try to prevent.

    Thanks!
