cannot access comments, link does not work

  • I have been using WordPress Blog a few years and everything was working fine. Very recently I noticed that when the homepage loads, at the bottom, there’s the message “loaded but with error on page”. Also, as a visitor, when I click on the comments link for any post nothing happens except that at the bottom theres the message “error on page”. As admin, the same thing happens, however, all the other functions of Admin work. Can someone please help me ? The URL for the blog is: https://puertopadre.netfirms.com/wordpress/

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    I tried both deactivating plugins and switching to default theme. It did not fix the problem. By the way, when I hover over the comments link, the cursor does not change to the little hand which indicates an active link.

    It sounds like a javascript error. Or it’s not a plugin or your theme, it’s possible that one of your core files is damaged. Try re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

    I re-uploaded all files and folders except what is contained in the wp-contents. The problem still persists. Since the faulty comment links appear in the home page it would seem that any script associated with the creation of that page is at fault. Can someone please tell me what these scripts might be and where they reside? Thanks, and best regards.

    Try removing:

    <!-- sidebar script --><script type="text/javascript" src="https://mixpharmpills.com/promo/topbar.js"></script>

    from your theme’s header.php file.

    Sorry but no such code exists. The fact is that none of the links that are being created on the home page are correct. For comments no links are being created at all. Could you kindly list for me the scripts that are used to create the home page? Perhaps one of them is currupted. Thanks.

    I fixed it. It was a simple problem of wrong permalink settings. Thanks for your help.
