Media Permissions

  • I am the admin and creator of my blog. I have the ability to upload media, but not the ability to add it to a block. It only gives me the ability to add from URL. Even when selecting a featured image, I get the error “To edit the featured image, you need permission to upload media.”

    I am the admin and only user, so there should be no permission problems. From the WordPress App on my phone, with the same account, I can add photos and featured images from the media gallery, so where I am going wrong? Please help!

  • Deactivate all plug-ins as a test. One of them may be responsible for this restriction.

    You can also test changing the theme to a standard theme like TwentyTwentyThree.

    Also have a look at Tools > Site Health to see if there are any abnormalities.
