How to change where the "art-postheader" icons go

  • I am trying to change my posts so that it doesnt show the date and the author at the top of the blog.
    I found the relevant php in the index.php and I removed it – my site didn’t load. needless to say I don’t know any php.

    How can I either delete all the date info or move it to the bottom of the post?

    (i have searched the codex for this but found nothing.)
