No self-referencing Canonical on Translated Pages

Hi. We’re currently facing an issue where the alternate language pages are not self-referencing. They are instead pointing to a totally different URL as the canonical version. You can see here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pLxBzLR4VrBYgl5N0IW5lMNoR5dGiFrG/view?usp=sharing
We need our Hreflang pages to point to themselves as the canonical. Can Hreflang Manager help set this up for our entire site? If it helps, we’re currently using Yoast for hreflangs and Gtranslate for translation.

this plugin allows you to configure hreflang as HTML link elements.
The HTML link elements added to the page are based on the hreflang data added to the back-end, specifically on the Hreflang -> Connections menu.
The plugin doesn’t analyze and modify hreflang link elements added by other plugins or themes.

there are two scenarios when hreflang is implemented.
If the URL of the alternate pages are predictable you can use a script and apply everything automatically. (E.g. https://example.com/post-1/ -> https://example.com/en-uk/post-1/)
If there URLs are not predictable (E.g. https://example.com/my-first-post/ -> https://example.com/it-it/il-mio-primo-articolo/) you can use a plugin like Hreflang Manager to manually enter the hreflang data. With this plugin the hreflang data can be added from the Connections -> Hreflang menu. To resume, if the URLs of the alternate versions are not predictable the hreflang implementation can’t be automatic.
