    Hi,
Can this plugin hide the comment and ping Links when they are deactivated?

I just want to remove the text “Both comments and pings are currently closed.” and “Comments are closed.”

tried implementing various code suggestions into the theme files comments.php and index.php without success, and would be best to do this with a plugin anyway so as to avoid editing any theme files.

    Many thanks,

    – V

Hi Vince, sorry – this plugin doesn’t control anything on the front-end display of your site, it just enables you to edit the controls of the ‘edit’ screens.

Sadly, it almost certainly sounds like you will need to delve into your templates files to alter this. If you are not sure where the code is being fetched from, download your entire theme and do a file search for the string – it will almost certainly be somewhere in either comments.php or functions.php depending on the theme designer.

Once you have found the text strings, it shouldn’t be too tricky to remove or replace them – be sure to search all files complete – it may be repeated in the code for different circumstances (again, depending on the theme designer).

    Good luck, hope that helps;)
