I use Cleantalk on all of my client sites, and it works great. But sometimes on multisites, it just can’t seem to hold the connection. We get a lot of errors where it doesn’t synchronize. Today I was in the network admin area and clicked to go to the settings area – where it always says to go to the primary site’s settings. When I clicked that link to the primary site, I got an error.

    —————-

    Error establishing a database connection

If your site does not display, please contact the owner of this network. If you are the owner of this network please check that your host’s database server is running properly and all tables are error free.

Could not find site https://www.mysite.com. Searched for table _40X_blogs in database mydatabase_WP40X. Is that right?

    ——————-

Is that maybe a clue? Just sharing in case it is.

    Hello @deleyna.

A complete reinstallation of the plugin can help you. But in this case, all the plugin data will be deleted, and you will need to configure it again.

    1) WordPress Admin Page → Settings → Anti-Spam by CleanTalk → Advanced settings → enable the “Complete Deactivation” option → Save Changes.

    2) WordPress Admin Page → Plugins → Installed plugins → Anti-Spam by CleanTalk → Deactivate and then Delete.

    3) Install it anew. This guide will help: https://cleantalk.org/help/install-wordpress.

so this error tells you this is necessary? Again? Why does this continue to be needed on multisite installs?

    I’ll do it…again…

    Thanks.

    Hello @deleyna,

The reactivation of the plugin with the “Complete deactivation” option enabled should re-create all the plugin databases. If the problem still persists after that, please let us know.
