  • We are also getting the Fatal Error. Definitely a bug.

To temporarily fix the issue, we had to perform the following:

    1. Deactivate the plugin.
    2. Verify Memcached is enabled (server level or via host panel).
    3. Reactivate the plugin.
    4. Flush all cache.
    5. Refresh your WP dashboard (Plugins): CTRL + F5 (twice).

Hope this helps. Definitely a bug that needs to be reviewed and fixed.

    Cheers ??

    Thanks for the suggestion, generosus!

I tried following your instructions, but it doesn’t work. After deactivation, the Object Cache 4 everyone version 2.1 plugin cannot be reactivated! Only after removing and reinstalling it will activate. But then the error message described above appears again!? I’ll wait until the plugin maker has reviewed it and fixed the bugs in the new version.

    Hey @stefi007,

So, we ran some more tests and can confirm that the Fatal Error will occur if you do not have Memcached enabled and/or your host does not support it.

Does your host support Memcached? Did you reach out to your host to confirm they do?

Based on the above, we cannot confirm the plugin has a bug.

    Cheers ??

    Hi!

An update to version 2.1.2 of the Object Cache 4 everyone plugin also eliminated this error warning. Thanks to the plugin developers and others who showed interest!

Hello, I have installed OC4E from scratch, and unfortunately I get the following error when activating it (:

Object Cache 4 everyone?has detected another WP Object Cache instance running. Plugin is deactivated now.

I tried to remove the object-cache.php file, but then, when I activate again OC, it gives the above message again.

    Please advise.

    Hello,

Thank you, no need, I fixed it by manually adding the memcached server in wp-config.php.

    Have a nice one!
