    Hello,

I use a static page as my home (front) page and another static page called Blog for my posts.

I use Breadcrumb Navxt SVN version and I set it up to display the link to the home page in front of each breadcrumb.

But, on my “Blog” page it is displayed as: “Home > Home” instead of “Home > Blog”

Shouldn’t the breadcrumb use the page title holding the posts as the breadcrumb’s label for that page? Can it be configured?

    Regards

Looks like something broke :(, I’m seeing “Home ” on my testbed instead of “Home > Archives” (archives is my posts page), different but related. I’ll look into this, but as with my last replay, a fix may be a ways out (unless it affects my current project). Regardless, it will be fixed before 3.7.0 is released.

    DreadLox,

Can you try the current SVN Trunk? I seem to have it working properly on my testbed again. (it should be version “3.6.74”).

    Helo.
I am using the 3.7.0 version of the plugin and i have the same problem that the user DreadLox described. This happens because I am testing it locally?

    Thanks

    Natan,

Do you have more information on your WordPress setup? I can’t reproduce this on my testbed so I need more information.

    Helo.

    My setup is like this:

    – My initial page is a paged called Perfil (it means Profile in English). This page is a normal page created at wp-admin with some text and a custom template.

    – My page of posts its a page called Blog created at wp-admin and with a custom template too.

When i am on the index (the profile page) the Breadcrumb show the right information, when i go to Blog page the Breadcrumb think that page is my initial page when has to be show Home -> Blog (just show Home).

When i enter in a post, the Breadcrumb continues showing the Blog page as home followed by the post category and the post name, when right it would be Home -> Blog -> Post Category -> Post name

Another thing, when i am in some post whith a custom post type, the Breadcrumb doesnt show the right title of my root page from that custom post type. And all options configuration off the plugin was changed but shows a whrong message.

Hope you understand my english. If you need more information let me know.

    Natan,

Sorry for taking so long to respond. Could you do a settings export and post the results as a response in this thread? To do this do the following:

    1. Navigate to the Breadcrumb NavXT Settings page
    2. Click on the “Import/Export/Reset” tab, next to the “Help” tab in the upper right area of the page.
    3. In the dropdown, press the “Export” button
    4. Save/Open the XML file
    5. Copy the contents of the XML file and paste into a response

As a note, make sure to use the “code” button to surround the contents, otherwise the forums may do funny things with it.

Knowing the settings will help me reproduce this issue.

    Hello.

Sorry for the confusion, I managed to get the plugin would display information correctly, has been a lack of attention on my part. Thanks for the support and the fantastic plugin.

Ok, no problem. Will close this as fixed then.

    Hi mtekk,

    I’m having the same problem.

I have a category named “blog”. The breadcrumb show Home -> Home instead of Home -> Blog. If I rename my category to something different, it works well.

I’m avaiable if you wan’t more info to debug it.

daword, is it actually outputting “Home -> Home” or was that translated from another language (e.g. French)?

    Hi mtekk,

You right, I’m using qtranslate plugin. When I’m going to the “blog” category, In french mode, I have this output :
“Accueil > Accueil” (Accueil means Home in french).

But in english mode, I have this output (the good one, but “Accueil” is not translated) :
    “Accueil > Blog”.

Do you have any idea ? ??

    Regards.

The French translation is broken, two other users have reported this recently. I’m currently looking for a new translator as the one who was maintaining the French translation has not responded to my emails in over 9 months.

Up until version 3.8.1 of this plugin, the translation in Spanish is also wrong. It translates “Blog” as “Inicio” (which means “Home”), and rendering “Home > Home”.

I fixed it updating the “breadcrumb_navxt-es_ES.po” file with the right translation and uploading the file again to the same location as a .mo file.

Yeah, this is something I am going to tell all of the translators for the next release (already a policy for new translations). If their language does not have a word for “Blog” that is not distinct from “Home” then they will be asked to keep “Blog” as “Blog”. The French and Spanish were like this (French has since been updated by it’s author and I’m sure the maintainer of the Spanish translation will fix it when I notify her).
