    Hi,
For the last couple weeks I’m unable to publish my posts. I have read all the suggestions on how to fix it, but nothing has work. I know they’re not drafts, my time zone is correct, the status says “published”, but their not. The only way I can get a post to publish is to “sticky” it.
    I have:
deactivated all my plug-ins and reactived them one by one
    I have reinstalled my theme
    I have repaired my database
I have cleared my cache, cookies, history and restarted my computer
    and on and on.
I can only tell you what I observe since I’m not very computer tech oriented.
    blog

    Can someone help me?
    Thanks, jeannie

  • I have reinstalled my theme

Have you switched to te twentyten theme? That would help us rule out if its theme related

No. I reinstalled the same theme. The same theme I’ve had since this spring with no problems.
    Thanks, jeannie

So, have you switched to Twenty Ten so we can rule-out a theme-related issue?

AS I STATED IN MY PREVIOUS POST. NO! I RE-INSTALLED THE SAME THEME.

Switch themes. Activate Twenty Ten. You can just switch back after, it doesn’t delete the theme.

    What does that even mean?

How can I publish all my post one day with no problems and the next thing you know you can’t? I have not changed anything.

This is very frustrating for someone like me who doesn’t know anything techinical about wordpress and doesn’t understand code.

Now I just tried to sticky a published post and that doesn’t work either. So now I can’t publish new posts or sticky any published posts. ARG!
    thanks

What code are you talking about? No one has asked you to do anything with code. And if you don’t want to even try what anyone suggests, WordPress probably isn’t for you.

I suggested activating the Twenty Ten theme and seeing if that changes anything, but you won’t even do that. 3 clicks, and you won’t do it.

So don’t expect anyone to help you if you’re just going to be an ass. I’m certainly not going to. You’re not paying me anything, and no one on here is getting paid anything. It’s FREE software, supported by kind people willing to help others. So coming into the forums with an attitude gets you NOTHING.

    LATER. MUCH.

Thanks geezerd for your help and your “kind” words but I already did that.

    Thanks!

Hi. A few posts ago you said you had not tried the default theme, now you say you have.. So which is it?

The best chance of resolution is with the default theme and plugins turned off. Then publish a post and tell us exactly what happens.

P.S I realise that this is a frustrating issue, but getting angry at folk who are trying to help you will not result in solving it any faster.

Sorry, but I don’t understand why everyone keeps asking me the same question about about my theme.

I was also send a private email calling me names and using vulgar langauge.

Do you mean deactive plug-ins and what is a default theme? Because I have tried to use another theme and deactived the plugin’s, posted a post and then re-active them one by one. Nothing, still no published post.

I tried using another theme and then went back and re-actived my current them twenty ten.

    thanks anyway everyone

Sorry, but I don’t understand why everyone keeps asking me the same question about about my theme.

It was mostly because we’d not had an answer to it. Now we have.

I was also send a private email calling me names and using vulgar langauge.

That is rather a strange thing for anyone to have done. I suggest deleting it and adding their address to your spam filter. We can’t really take action here based on that as email addresses are relatively easy to forge.

Do you mean deactive plug-ins and what is a default theme? Because I have tried to use another theme and deactived the plugin’s, posted a post and then re-active them one by one. Nothing, still no published post.

Yes that’s pretty much what people have been suggesting.

I tried using another theme and then went back and re-actived my current them twenty ten.

Ok so you have tried with no active plugins and the default theme (which is 2010 by the way).

In the admin, what happens when you click on Publish post?

What status is shown next to the post in the edit posts list?

Thanks for helping me. My original post explained everything I had to keep repeating. Anyway.

I call twenty ten because that’s the wording in the theme itself.

The status shows Published in bold.

Something just occurred to me. I did change my header on Oct 1, but I have the same theme. I have changed headers before with no problems. Could that cause a problem?

My original post explained everything I had to keep repeating.

Sorry, but it didn’t. If you had just said that you reinstalled Twenty Ten instead of “I have reinstalled my theme,” it would have saved us a lot of trouble.

I did change my header on Oct 1, but I have the same theme. I have changed headers before with no problems. Could that cause a problem?

Anything’s possible, but I’m going to say that’s unrelated.

The reason why we suggest deactivating all plugins and switching to the Default or Twenty Ten theme is because plugin and theme-specific issues are easy to fix. Would you rather have your mechanic disassemble your entire car and then find out that you just need an oil change?

Since you’re currently using Twenty Ten, we need to approach the theme question a different way. Go to the Appearance section of your admin panel, select the “Install Themes” tab, search for “Coraline” and install and activate it. Then, let us know if the posts appear. If they don’t, deactivate all of your plugins and check again.

I know this frustrating, but it’s important to know if this is a minor theme-related issue or a major issue.

I apologize if you’ve already done this, but it’s just not clear given this topic’s current state.
