    I use Table of Contents and just started dabbling with Insert Pages, which I planned to use intensively, but turns out I have to hold my horses atm ??

    When I embed a post titled ‘Red wine spit test’ into another post, what happens is, the table of contents gets appended at the start of the inserted post, instead of at the top of at the top of the parent post.

    I think both plugins are great and suspect this might need fixing, if that’s decided by you guys of course, on the side of Table of Contents. Therefore, I’ll shoot in a thread there too.

    Yeah, Insert Pages really does try to recreate the full context of a page when it inserts one, so it seems likely that the Table of Contents plugin would happily insert the TOC into the inserted page.

    You can try adding the inline attribute to the insert page shortcode which will force the inserted page not to apply the_content filter. Table of Contents probably hooks into that filter to add itself to the page. Alternatively, you can hook into should_apply_the_content_filter to disable it sitewide, e.g.: add_filter( 'should_apply_the_content_filter', '__return_false' );

    Give those a try and let us know if you have any luck!
