Welcome to WooCommerce! I see you’ve already added a product – that’s great! I understand you’re having some trouble with the product image. It seems like you’re seeing a placeholder image on your product menu and shop page, even though you’ve added an image in the product description and short description.
Here’s what could be happening: WooCommerce has a specific section for product images, which is separate from the product description and short description. If you’ve placed the image in the description areas, it won’t display as the main product image, hence the placeholder image.
No worries, though! Here’s how to fix it:
Head over to your WordPress dashboard and click ‘Products‘.
Select the product you want to add an image to.
You’ll see a ‘Product Image‘ section on the right-hand side of the product detail page.
Click on ‘Set product image‘.
From here, you can either upload a new image or choose an existing one from your media library.
Once you’ve chosen your image, click ‘Set product image‘ again.
Don’t forget to hit ‘Update‘ to save your changes.
Now, your product image should show up perfectly on your shop page and product page, replacing that pesky placeholder image. Want to learn more? Check out this guide on Adding Product Images and Galleries.
