“There was an error” message when connecting Stripe

I’m trying to setup Paid Content in a new wordpress.com site. My Stripe account is already up and running, but the following is happening:

1. When I connect the Stripe Account in the “Earn” page of the wp.com dashboard, I am able to select the Stripe account, but then I get a black page with a “There was an error” message.

2. If I go back manually to the “Earn” page, the Stripe account shows up successfully connected.

3. If I create a post and add a payment button, the payment goes through successfully to stripe.

4. If I create a Paid Content block, it simply doesn’t show up when the post is published (I selected a plan). When I view the post (logged in as admin), the post shows a message that Stripe has to be connected.

Somehow this problem only happens with the Paid Content, not with the Payment Button. Also, I’m not sure if this is related to the error I described in item 1.

Any ideas on how I can solve this?
