    Hi all,

I am facing a strange error when trying to create a new link.

As soon as I save the link, it is immediately marked as “503 – Service Unavailable Error

I am using 301 Redirect, but this happens with any of the 3 redirect options.

Is there a setting I am missing?

    Hi @alexarium,

It’s nice to chat with you again. 503 errors are server-side errors, so there’s likely some sort of PHP error occurring when the pretty link is saved. If you look in your site’s PHP error log file, do you see any errors logged around the time that you attempted to create the pretty link?

    Kind regards,

Hi Tyler, thank you for getting back to me.

I’m afraid there are no errors at all on the website’s logs. The most recent one was from back in April. I am assuming you are referring to the “php_errorlog” file in the website’s root directory.

I tried creating a new link with a completely different browser as well, with the same result. Again, nothing in the “php_errorlog” file.

As long as it’s not a wrong setting I’ve made in the plugin, I’ll try to speak to my host and see if they can provide any feedback.

    Hi Alex,

Thank you for checking that. If there’s no PHP errors being logged, then there’s likely some server load or timeout issue. I don’t believe this type of error would be cause by a setting within the plugin, so you may need to get in contact with your hosting provider as you mentioned and see if they can pinpoint what’s causing that 503 error when you attempt to publish a new post/pretty link on the site.

    I hope this helps!
