• Hi,

I had a WP site up and running. Recently, I went into the dashboard and changed the site address & URL from this: https://www.mysite.com/wp/
    To this: https://www.mysite.com/

When I clicked Save Changes it directed me to a broken link page on Google. Now I am unable to get the prompt to login to my dashboard. The homepage still exists when you go to: https://www.mysite.com/wp/ here, all the posts are missing and the source title says Page not found. Does anybody have any thoughts or solutions to this problem?

    Thanks in advance!!

I checked this out, however I can’t change files because I can’t get a prompt for logging into WordPress.

Try reading the page again. You don’t need to login to WordPress to change the necessary files.

I’m managing content for a WP site. The designer made some changes to the site’s appearance, but now the login button is missing. When I try wp-admin or wp-admin.php I receive a 404 Not Found error. Is it possible that admin privileges have been accidentally deleted? Is there another way for me to login and update the site’s content?

Thank you to anyone for your help!!

If you’re still looking for an answer, does this work?

the www name of your site .whatever/wp-login.php

I still got the Not Found error. It’s as though the admin possibility’s gone completely missing! Thanks for the advice, though.

Try downloading WordPress again and delete then replace your copies of everything except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download.

    Solution!

You have to edit the wp-config.php file.
    Look here: Changing_The_site_URL

    Thank you Esmi.

So it solved the home page problems and I am able to login to the dashboard. However, all the links appear to be broken…

Does anybody have any idea why this may be?

    Thanks!!
