Complianz 6.5.3 causes a display problem with the Brave 1.56.20 browser for Windows since I installed the 6.3 version of WordPress. Ok with other browsers. I’m using Divi 4.22, PHP 7.4. Youtube videos are no longer showing on my homepage, but Vimeo videos are showing! I had to deactivate Complianz to restore the display.

    Hi @cgibourg,

    Thanks for your bug report.

Free users can also submit a support ticket on our website, just leave the license field blank. It’s not required. Additionally you can also open a forum thread.

I just set up a sandbox website with complianz and a youtube video:
    https://ill-iguana-jude.instawp.xyz/youtube/

The video shows normal in blocked mode in Brave, then loads as expected when accepted. Does this work for you as well? If this URL works for you, it might be a specific Divi issue.

If you can share your URL I can take a look at your specific setup.

Thank you for your reply. Your example with sandbox website and Complianz and Youtube video is fine: neither Complianz nor Youtube shows up with the Brave browser, like on my website.

    Hi @cgibourg,

If you click the brave icon in the address bar, then advanced controls – Filter Lists – uncheck EasyList Cookie.

It disables Consent Management Tools, but in this case disables the javascript that controls consent for YouTube as well. It’s a rather brute force way in disallowing any tooling, without checking the exact functionality. We can’t circumvent this.

You can find the full lists here; https://easylist.to/. Funny enough they don’t block the consent tool on YouTube, but allow the videos. Hope this clarifies it, sorry we can’t be of any help.

    regards Aert

Well done! Indeed, Youtube and Complianz videos are visible by disabling Brave’s protections. However, it remains strange that by leaving the Brave protections and disabling Complianz, I allow the display of Youtube videos!

    Hi @cgibourg.

This is due to the above mention; “it disables Consent Management Tools, but in this case disables the javascript that controls consent for YouTube as well.”

This means the page is loaded with consent in mind, and YouTube is blocked. But Brave removes Complianz that handles consent, and can’t release YouTube on consent or show a placeholder.

A better setting would be the default in Brave called DNT and https://globalprivacycontrol.org/ – Here browsers give a signal, which you can respect with Complianz. If you go to the wizard, General – Security & Consent you can set this question to Yes.

Without third-party brute force lists, everyone on Brave that doesn’t want to be bothered with Privacy and have Do Not Track as default won’t get a banner, but can enable YouTube if so desired, and are informed about the cookies that are set afterwards.

I have enabled it here; https://ill-iguana-jude.instawp.xyz/youtube/ – In your Brave browser this is the default.

    regards Aert

@cgibourg as the issue originated in Brave (by removing Complianz scripts), is this thread resolved for you?

Hello, don’t know if I am correct here, but brave also doesn’t show my Consent Banner doesn’t matter if I activate or deactivate, protection for my site. Dont know how to go about it. It shows up on chrome.

But it works on my main domain
