Author URL = author/first lastname. How do I change the default?

  • When a news uer rgisters on my blog they get an author url which for some strange reason is defaulting to “mysite.com/author/FirstName LastName”.

    1. The url’s don’t work because they have a space in them.

    2. Shouldn’t it be author/username or author/displaynamepublically as?

    All advice on how to fix this is highly appreciated.

  • do you have any sort of rewrite/redirect plugin at all?

    barring that, reset your permalinks by setting to default, test your site, set back to custom
