Can’t delete Grand Flagallery Plugin

  • I’m doing some maintenance to my website. Maintenance includes cleaning up plugins no longer needed. One such plugin is Grand Flagallery (Free Version). After deactivating the plugin, the WordPress delete button won’t delete it. After scanning through the pages in my site, the galleries using the plugin were edited to no longer require it.

    I’ve ftp’d into my server searched the WP-Contents folder to delete it manually. But the plugin is still listed in the plugin page with the delete option. When attempting to delete the plugin it seems to freeze.

    I suspect somewhere in my site there is a lingering gallery preventing the plugin from being deleted. Scrolling through individual posts looking for a gallery seems way too time consuming. Is there any “search” feature to find any remaining galleries to address? I’ve searched WP forum using the search terms: “search for pages using grand Flaggallery” only to find 0 results. Any suggestions to delete this plugin??

    UPDATE:

    I went into my list of blog posts then searched for the term “gallery”. Any post with an image gallery was then edited accordingly. Afterwards the Grand Flagallery plugin still would not delete.

    I attempted to reinstall the plugin. It’s no longer available through WordPress. Hmmmmmm!
