when i tried to verify my website on google merchant center it sent me this message

Because your store’s website is already using the Google Tag Manager code, Google was able to verify your website. You’ll receive an email from Google Search Console as a confirmation of the completed verification.

but when i try to connect my google merchant accounts on the plugin in wordpress

    it gives me this error

unable to insert site verification the necessary verification token could not be found on your site

althought when i check the view page resources on my website there is a meta tag with a comment

<!– Google site verification – Google Listings & Ads –>

    Hi @muhammedraouf92,

Could you confirm you’re trying to connect the verified Google Merchant Center account? The plugin provides the option to connect an existing account or create a new one.

Please attempt the setup again and share a screenshot of the setup screen showing the issue you’re seeing.

Share the screenshot along with a copy of your site’s System Status. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”, paste it into https://quickforget.com and share the link here (Please ensure to extend the expiry time).

    Hi @muhammedraouf92,

Let’s try completely removing the plugin’s data and setting it up afresh. Here are the steps:

    1. Edit your site’s wp-config.php file and paste this code define( 'WC_GLA_REMOVE_ALL_DATA', true ); – see how to edit wp-config.php
    2. Deactivate and delete the plugin – that’ll remove all the plugin’s data.
    3. Next, go to Plugins > Add new, install the latest version of Google Listings & Ads and you should be able to complete the setup.

On a side note, it might be helpful to temporarily deactivate your caching plugins to ensure they’re not causing a conflict:

    1. W3 Total Cache
    2. WP Rocket
    3. WP Super Cache

The reason I’m recommending this is that you have 3 caching plugins activated, which isn’t ideal. Using multiple plugins for caching is known to cause issues – you only need one of the plugins. I’d recommend just sticking with WP Rocket since it’s a paid plugin.

Let me know how it goes.

is there anyway that i cant re verify my website on google merchant another way…

because everytime i try to remove the site and add it again it tells me

i just want to mention that the website is verified on another gmail account on google tag manager other than the one iam using on merchant …could that cause a problem??

    Hi @muhammedraouf92,

    Thank you for your response.

Yes, this would definitely cause a problem. Being verified as another user means that the user is deemed the owner of the website. I’d recommend connecting using the account you used for the verification or performing the verification on the account you wish to connect.

If you connect using the account you used for the verification, the setup would be seamless since you’re already a verified owner of the site.
