• This is supposed to be a plugin made by the Woocommerce team and it crashes my site several times and when I manage to view the setup page it returns about twenty errors and crashes my site again. Where’s the QA? I’m only using very popular standard plugins and a very popular theme. Go figure.

  • Hi @lonelywriter

Firstly, we appreciate your feedback, and I’d like to apologize for the inconvenience you’ve encountered. We strive to provide a seamless experience for our users.

It’s important to note that while we do conduct thorough QA testing, the vast ecosystem of WordPress, including themes and plugins, can occasionally lead to compatibility issues.

However, rest assured that we’re committed to helping you resolve this problem. To begin with, I’d recommend running a full conflict test to identify the problem. Here are the steps:

    1. Temporarily switch your theme to a default theme such as Twenty-twenty three or Storefront. If the issue is gone, it indicates that there is a conflict with your current theme.
    2. If it’s still having the issue, disable all plugins except for WooCommerce.
    3. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing the conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

If you’re not comfortable doing all of this on the live version of your site, you can create a staging environment using WP-STAGING.

If you’re still experiencing issues after following these steps, we’d appreciate it if you could provide us with the following information:

    • System Status Report: navigate to WooCommerceStatus. Select Get system report and then Copy for support.
    • Fatal Error log: Share a copy of any fatal error log found under WooCommerceStatusLogs.
    • Screenshots of the error, if possible.
    • Specific steps you did before the error occurs.

We look forward to resolving this issue for you.

I appreciate you taking the time to answer however I worked in IT for over thirty years and worked on much more complex ecommerce sites with SAP Hybris. Thorough DEV and QA testing would include at least the top fifty or hundred plugins being used. Also, from the reviews (plural) and a 2.6/5 with 69 negative reviews you should assume there is definitely something wrong. I’m not an average user and know how to troubleshoot, which leaves me wondering how frustrating it must be for the average user.

I’m conscious that there could be a clash between plugins, that goes without saying. But, as stated in my original review, I’m using very popular standard plugins like Wordfence, WP-Mail SMTP, Contact Form 7, Really Simple SSL. Nothing fancy and I purchased a reputable theme, Avada, that constantly updates their codes. There is no reason for a total crash upon activation. And as you know, most people at home who are not running a large ecommerce site and have their own team working on it, will not have a DEV and QA environment, they install plugins in their live environment.

Anyway, take it for what it’s worth but it definitely needs to be looked at more closely or a rewrite from the ground up for this plugin.

    Wishing you a great day.

    Hi @lonelywriter,

We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. I’d like to assure you that our products are tested with the top plugins.

However, sometimes unforeseen conflicts can arise due to various factors. When this occurs, the best thing to do is to create a support thread and share the error you’re seeing with us. The error can provide insights into where the issue is originating from and help us to address it – this benefits the community.

Please create a support thread and share the log and your site system status, so we can investigate the issue. Here’s how to find and share the required info:

    1. Fatal error log – Go to WooCommerce > Status > Logs, and check the dropdown for the latest fatal error logs. (Please also include a screenshot of the error you see when the issue occurs)
    2. Site system status – You can find it in WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.

You can share both information via https://quickforget.com and share the link in your support thread. (Remember to extend the quickforget.com secret expiry time).
