    Hi,

One of my client is using WooCommerce with more than 7000 products. And Bulky seems great to handle mass modifications on such a big catalog, since it doesn’t save every time we do something.

I would like to know if the drag and drop capabilities of WooCommerce for reordering products in categories could be replicated with Bulky ? Right now, my client needs to change menu_order by hand (giving number 1, 2, 3, etc.) and we don’t know if the menu_order is related to the filtered category, or globally (since these values are different in WooCommerce).

Using the sorting capabilities of WooCommerce is so very slow (even in product categories with 200 products) with so many products that I wanted to know if it would be possible to implement that with Bulky. You can change the order by drag and dropping, and upon saving, Bulky would automatically change the menu_order of all the items in the current category. Right now, every product has a menu_order of 0 and Bulky doesn’t do any reordering upon changing this.

If this is not possible, do you have any alternative in mind to handle that ? I would need to get the premium version of the plugin because I have many meta fields using ACF, so if this ends up being a pro feature, no problem of course.

Let me know what you think, thanks !

    Hi,

Great news! We are pleased to inform you that the feature you mentioned is indeed possible, and we have successfully found a solution for it. As a result, we have included this feature in our premium version of the plugin. You can see it here: https://ibb.co/WGrsYL2

    Hi,

Thanks a lot for the quick reply and new feature that’s great ! So I just need to remove variations from the filter, and if I select a category I can add the order manually (with any step I want) to every product in this category ? It’s not page dependent in Bulky ? If I have 20 articles by page, but 200 in the category, this will change the order for the 200 articles ?

Let me know but this sounds like a great addition !

    Hi,

When you work with the menu_order, variations is required to not load, only the parents.

The manner will be like if set 20 products per page, the fill will be active on each page one by one, instead of loading all pages in the background.

    Best regards.

    Hi,

I’m not sure if I understood you correctly. If I have 20 articles per page, but 200 articles in total in the category, and use your new feature and change the menu_order from there, this will change the menu_order for 200 articles, not just the 20 articles visible on the page ?

So when I save, every article menu_order will be changed in this category. That’s right ?

Or will it only change the 20 articles visible on the screen ?

    Thanks !

    Hi,

It will only change the 20 articles visible on the screen.

    Hi,

But this is a strange behavior. This means the 190 articles left will still have a menu_order of 0. So they’ll show before the other articles we just changed the order of.

Don’t you think that’s kind of impractical ?

    Hi,

In this case, you can set 200 products per page and change the menu-order, otherwise, you need to go to the next pages for this change.

    Best regards.
