Mesmerize companion plugin issues with slug

There is a bug with the mesmerize companion plugin. I use the mesmerize plugin for my clients website and everytime i try to add a slug for my homepage it keeps dissapearing. When i deactivate the “mesmerize companion” plugin, the slug stays. Please help
