In my dashboard there is this message:

Action required: Security update of WooCommerce Stripe plugin. Your store requires a security update for the WooCommerce Stripe plugin. Please update the WooCommerce Stripe plugin immediately to address a potential vulnerability.”

But there is no update available and payment gateway doesn’t work.
Have you planned and update? This is an high-level issue for any who use this plugin.

  • I’m getting this same error message on one of the websites I manage that uses this plugin…the message shows up on the Products page (not the dashboard or the Plugins page). When I click “See Available Updates”, it redirects to the Plugins page, but no update is available. Version is 7.4.1

I also get this error message:
Action Required: WooCommerce Stripe plugin security update
Your shop requires a security update for the WooCommerce Stripe plugin. Update the WooCommerce Stripe plugin immediately to fix a potential vulnerability.
When I click “View Available Updates” or “Ignore”, nothing happens.
So I deactivated and deleted the WooCommerce Stripe plugin, but I still get the same error message.

I’ve searched the database for traces of this error, but haven’t found anything.

    Hi @onelikenoone ,

    Thanks for reaching out!

It seems you have a persistent notice regarding updating Stripe, however no update is available, indicating you are already on the latest version.

It’s safe to ignore this notice, however, as a workaround you could remove it via a database edit.

You will need a plugin like?WP phpMyAdmin?in order to do that. You’ll want to find the?wp_wc_admin_notes?database table and search for a message. Then, you’ll want to change the status from?unactioned?to?actioned.

Please ensure that you have a good?backup?of your?full site and database?in place before doing any of the above, so that, should something go wrong, you are able to easily restore your site to a functioning state.

    @kjdesign @michelemac ,

Please can you try the same as suggested above. Should you need further help with this, since each site setup differs, and in order to align with?forum best practices, please can you?start your own topic?so that we can address your issue(s) separately.

    Cheers!

@beautyofcode thanks for the reply but the problem is not the notice but the plugin not working. https://ibb.co/sF4M5kJ

    Hi @onelikenoone ,

    Thanks for providing clarity.

As per the screenshot, it appears that the credit card fields are not working as expected on your end, yes?

This is not something I am able to replicate on my test site, as the credit card fields are working as expected on my end.

This kind of problem is usually caused by a conflict with your theme or with another plugin.

The best way to determine this is to:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce and Stripe
    • Check if the credit card fields are functioning as expected.

If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated.

To find the culprit, reactivate your theme, and then the other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict.?You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

    Cheers!

The issue was resolved by changing the classification of the stripe payment cookie. Otherwise it was possible to enter credit card data only by accepting all cookies.

    Hello @onelikenoone,

The issue was resolved by changing the classification of the stripe payment cookie. Otherwise it was possible to enter credit card data only by accepting all cookies.

I can imagine your frustration, turns out this was a reported bug in WooCommerce core, it was already fixed for English (US) sites in the last update. If you’re running a localized site, you can expect this fix to be included in version 8.0.0.

Let us know if you have any other questions. :?)
