need an event registration form with email registration notifications config

  • Hello everyone,

    I’m in charge of building the website for a scientific event organized by my research institute.

    I thought I’d be able to use WPForms Lite, but I generated my forms only to realize afterwards that I couldn’t keep track of registrations with the free version.
    I imagine the same problem applies to my poster submission form (https://neuroimpsy.org/posters/)

    I don’t have access to the entries at all, yet I really need to
    1) receive an email notification when someone registers
    2) access the information entered in the form fields during registration
    3) (ideally) the subscriber to receive a confirmation e-mail.

    What can I use instead of WPForms? Is there a free alternative?
    (as the budget doesn’t depend on me, I can’t consider the pro version)

  • It seems there’s some misunderstanding here.

    WPForms Lite (free plugin) can surely be configured to send notification emails (sent to the site admin) and confirmation emails (sent to the person who fills the form). Either email can optionally contain the form data (except file uploads).

    What WPForms Lite (free plugin) doesn’t do is allow you to access the entries in the WordPress dashboard, but that’s not what you’re asking for in your 3-point requirements above.

    If you really want to switch away from WPForms Lite, email notification and confirmation are such basic features that every forum builder out there will have them.

    And even if you also want to view the form submissions in the WordPress dashboard, most form builder plugins have this as well.

    I’ve personally used Forminator, NinjaForms and Formidable Forms plugins — and all three have notifications/confirmations, provide access to submissions in the WordPress dashboard, and even allow exporting of the form submission to a single CSV file.

    The three features you are looking at can be done using Contact Form 7 without paying a single cent.

    I have always use CF7 for any kind of forms but just one thing to note – it is not as user-friendly as compared to other contact contact form plugins.
