The Loop not working properly?

  • I’ve read all about the Loop on the Codex. I’m new to php. I’ve been working away at this for a few days. I’m using the Lifestyle theme by Studiopress. It originally was working and would show “recent posts” in the “homepageleft” and “homepageright” areas of the main column as well as the “homepagebottom”. The code for home.php (which the theme seems to use over index.php) is located here:

    It was showing a test post that was uncatagorized. Things may have been affected when I switched to pretty urls. I’m not sure about this though as it seemed pretty sporadic.

    Ideally I’d just use the “homepagebootom” area for the loop and blog posts. When I tried to edit out the right and left sections it seemed to change the background color of the home page. Very confusing.

    I’d appreciate it if someone could shed some light on this for me. The Loop code in this theme is fairly complicated but it does seem as if it’s all there.

    I rigged up something that works ?? not as pretty as I’d like but it’s functional.

    Turned out the loop code in home.php was broken. I pulled a few lines from index.php and gave up some cool border formatting but it works ??
