I am converting from using default PHP mailer to SMTP with my hosting provider (SiteGround), and they recommended your plugin. Mostly it works well, but I have some HTML emails that are not encoding properly. You end up with &gt / &lt instead of the < and > for example. I notice WP Mail SMTP added the header…

    Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable

I don’t know if this is related to it.

Anyone else get this issue. Only on some emails not all. How well formatted does my HTML need to be? Never had an issue with the simple PHP mailer.

    Hi @jordanr

    Thanks for reaching out.

Are you able to consistenly reproduce this issue with the same email?

To confirm if this is a mailer specific issue, we would recommend setting up any of our other mailers to see if the issue reproduces itself.

The easiest ones to set up that allow you to maintain a domain based From Email Address ([email protected]) would be SendLayer (free trial) & Sendinblue/Brevo (free tier).

If the issue is not reproducible when using other mailers then we would recommend reaching out to the Siteground support team to confirm what might be happening in this case.
