• I just now realized that there are paragraph blocks. I realized you can fit alot of text in a big box instead of separating each sentence into it’s own “paragraph” box in WP page editor.

When I finish a sentence I usually just press ‘enter’ which automatically creates a paragraph block, this causes each sentence to be it’s own paragraph block.

Apologies if this seems like a pointless question, but I do know that google takes alot of things into consideration and uses information given from WP itself and various SEO’s.

  • Hey there Damin Leo,

When you create a paragraph (by clicking enter) it actually adds an HTML code which the user can’t see, which is <p>. Each paragraph created is not only harder to read for a regular user, but also not great for SEO (because of code bloat).

However, it shouldn’t impact a lot. It really depends on the user who’s reading the content as well, unless you’d like to automatize SEO and use it to route traffic to your website for affiliates, etc. It also depends on if your content is for Search Engines or for your organic audience.

Personally – i’d include more headings, subheadings, internal linking (shorter/simple articles), fewer paragraphs.

Sharing a few tips for you (SEO):

Internal links: If you write articles, try to link articles in between so that your hyperlinks lead to your own articles you have on your website.

Optimized Meta Tags: Optimize your meta title and meta description tags. Include your target keyword naturally in the title and create a compelling and concise description that entices users to click on your page in the search results. You can use Rank Math, Yoast SEO, SEO Press.

Play around and find the best ways, it’s best to go with trial & error route, change the approach and track the results.

    Best of luck,

    Julius

    Thank you for answering.

Separating my paragrpah blocks into sentences looks fine, which is why I didn’t pick it up in the first place. So luckily it doesn’t have any bad side effects.

I just want to ask, doesn’t nearly everyone do this? I feel like everyone clicks “enter” to make a new sentence instead of shift + enter 2x to create a gap within the actual block itself.

Do you think this is something I should be worried about and change or something I should just leave alone and continue doing?

Theres not really any sources regarding this topic so I’m not sure.

    Hey Damin,

Glad I could answer something. To expand my thought – I genuinely think you might find the best answer in WordPress SEO community, it’s hard to say, SEO is really not that easy, I just don’t want to mislead you :).

To answer from my perspective – I don’t think you should honestly be worried about it.
