I have updated to the latest version of UM and since then I am getting the Your templates are out of date. Please visit… message. On investigation it says I need to have my profile.php file located in /mytheme/ultimate-member, however, mine is in /mytheme/ultimate-member/templates. This is why I am getting that notice.

Looking at the profile.php file it states

“This template can be overridden by copying it to yourtheme/ultimate-member/profile.php”

So I moved my profile.php out of the templates folder and placed it simply in the ultimate-member folder. This has fixed the message BUT my profile.php no longer works, but it does work again if I put it back into templates.

I have checked my profile.php file to make sure it is not using any depreciated code.

    Why?

    Hello @gwmbox

The template should be in the “mytheme/ultimate-member/templates” folder.

Could you send me screenshot from the “Override templates” page with wrong paths (Please erase or blur all data that is confidential on the screenshot)?

    Regards.

    Hi @andrewshu

I have included several images here for your information as requested.

    UM Version Installed

    UM Notice

    UM Template Override info

The Profile.php file information that advises where the over ride file should go. I have checked the version number in this file which still says 2.6.1 despite me having updated to 2.6.2.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello @gwmbox

First of all, the version of template will be changed if there are some changes. Thats why the template version is 2.6.1.

As I see the theme path is correct – wp-content/themes/YOUR_THEME/ultimate-member/templates/profile.php (not wp-content/themes/YOUR_THEME/ultimate-member/profile.php as you wrote early).

Could you send me screenshot with all “Template Override” page (Please erase or blur all data that is confidential on the screenshot)?

    Regards.

Compared to the four images above what else do you need?

This is the notice I get when I use the path wp-content/themes/my-theme/ultimate-member/templates/profile.php

If I move it to wp-content/themes/my-theme/ultimate-member/profile.php

The message goes away, but the edited profile.php file is not used.

    Hello @gwmbox

If you move it to content/themes/my-theme/ultimate-member – there is not custom templates, thats why you didn’t receive any notice.

Please send me a screenshot like mine:

    Regards.

Pretty sure I gave you everything above. I am not sure you understand what I am saying though.

As I said when I do have the profile.php file in (correct directory) wp-content/themes/my-theme/ultimate-member/templates/profile.php, I see the notice as shown above.

If I place the file in wp-content/themes/my-theme/ultimate-member/profile.php (wrong directory) the message goes away.

Anyway it would seem this is not going to be resolved and I will just put a blank profile.php file in the wrong directory wp-content/themes/my-theme/ultimate-member/profile.php to remove the annoying notice

UPDATE: Damn that did not work ??

It must be an issue on my end if you cannot see it, even though I have the issue with 2 sites. I will create another test site to see if it exists still in that.

Ok fixed it was an issue my end, sorry.

I did not have the version number in my edited profile.

Hope that helps anyone else seeing that notice and wondering why.
