Site is really slow (Go Daddy)

    We have been trying to figure this out for days. We did a third reinstall this morning and it was running fast. I uploaded the theme and it was working pretty good, now it’s incredible slow again. I was clocking the page times around 20-30 seconds. What could be the problem? I have done many many sites with the WP platform using Go Daddy hosting services. Thanks in advance.

    Wow, looking at your code I don’t even see any evidence of hog plugins. Gee, you have a very normal theme, (the normalest!). Very hard to say.

    Time to contact them, even though they’ll probably say “it’s your fault”, like when I asked about why a site was taking 2 minutes to load a page, and they said “it has database calls”, as if 98% of sites didn’t have database calls. Their tech support people are extremely varied in skill, and that’s as nice as I can say it.

    I’m always amazed that people choose Godaddy even though it’s cheap. Maybe they think Dannica Patrick is hot. I’ve been preaching against them on my blog for a long time now, and I speak from experience, about 20 sites – my clients can’t help themselves ?? Yes, stuff usually works OK, but I would never be surprised by crappy response on their site.

    Yeah, I made the theme and is not done, but it’s going to be pretty plain. We’ll be hosting video, that’s it.

    Tell me about it, I hate Go Daddy. Their customer service is the pits. They are the kings of passing the buck. It’s my client’s choice, so it’s out of my control. My client was going to call Go Daddy and I told them they would just say “It’s WordPress’s fault”…and I was right. That’s exactly what they told them.
