I’ve installed the BuddyMeet plugin on my Not for Profit WordPress website. I tested it with a laptop and a couple of mobile phones and it seemed to work well. Now I’m got some of my members complaining that they are getting a popup that says it’s only for trial purposes and will shut down after 5 minutes.

Has anybody experienced this before, I was under the impression that it was a free service.

    Cheers

The BuddyMeet plugin is free and integrates the Jitsi videoconferencing tool into WordPress pages and BuddyPress/BuddyBoss groups. In order for the plugin to work properly, a Jitsi server needs to be configured using the “domain” setting.

Until today, the BuddyMeet plugin used the default Jitsi server provided by the Jitsi Team at meet.jit.si. However, the Jitsi team has made changes to their service usage and now restricts it for demo purposes only. To address this, we have released an update to the BuddyMeet plugin (version 2.2.0) that switches to 8×8.vc as the new default Jitsi server.

Additionally, the BuddyMeet plugin allows you to connect your own self-hosted Jitsi server. To do this, please check the “domain” setting on the plugin page.
