Google Tag Manager Errors

    Hello, we are using Complianz to fire Google Tag Manager.

    When checking the installation with Google Tag Assistant, two warnings appear:

    1. GTM JavaScript code not found as a direct child of the tag
    2. GTM no-script code not found: either missing or not in

    We test the plugin on a development enviroment, with only default WP theme Twenty Ninteen and Complianz plugin active.

    Using GTM4WP plugin instead, Tag Assistant gives a green flag.

    Is it possible to have GTM code correctly installed by Complianz plugin, so Tag Assistant gives a gren flag?

    Hi @ejagencia,

    While your question seems to concern the ‘legacy’ Tag Manager widget, the messages likely appear because the default GTM implementation by the Complianz Wizard loads in the footer, and because the <noscript> part is not included.

    You can keep using GTM4WP to implement the script though, and you’ll still be able to use the Complianz’ Consent Triggers like you would do when Complianz implements the GTM script.

    Thank you for answering.

    I did use GTM4WP following this guide but GTM now it’s not firing.

    In GTM4WP > General, when I set “Container code ON/OFF” to “Off”, GTM is not firing

    If I set “Container code ON/OFF” to “On”, GTM is firing before cookies are accepted.

    Do I need to add GTM code to the script center?

    Hi @ejagencia,

    That implementation with the Container code “ON” would work, so you can then set the firing triggers of the individual tags in GTM to one of the “Complianz Triggers” as mentioned above.

    That would allow you to load GTM and trigger the tags that require consent, based on the Complianz consent events.
