The image size on the grid view in Version 3 is much reduced.

We would appreciate being able to use larger image sizes (eg height) as the images are great visually when promoting events.

We will use Rows view for now.

    Hello @2020media ,

Thank you for reporting this. I can understand the current grid view offers a very wide landscape ratio for featured images. Often promotional images are relatively squarer. We will add an option to set custom image height in an upcoming release. That should give you more control over the grid view.

I just want to add that Staggered Grid view does not have height constrains on image and maybe you can try it too, to see if it suits your requirements.

    Feel free to ask questions.

I would suggest that an additional image field should be offered as the Event main view is always wide and narrow but most of the layours for listing are square as you said.

It’s really hard to find images that work on square and wide-landscape views!

    Hi,

    Thanks for your suggestion.

We are analyzing it and will update you soon on this.

Is there any progress on this? The featured image sizing is really making my events look unprofessional

    Great in listing view: https://prnt.sc/RZQpfB3RAxhp

    Horrible in event view: https://prnt.sc/pVRfqoC-I1ZS

    Thanks!

I’m wrestling with the same issues. What would be great is a set of recommended image sizes / aspect ratios for the different layouts, as well as a way to be able to specify which one goes where. I don’t mind having to make a series of images if I can be sure they’ll lead to a consistent experience, especially across platforms. Thanks so much!

    Hi @2020media, @fbc21ca,

We have fixed the issue in our latest (3.1.1) version release.

We have removed the width constraint previously imposed on our images on the event detail page.

Please update EventPrime with the latest version and check.

    Feel free to ask questions.

I am not sure this is an improvement.

Can you advise what the aspect ratio you designed this around should be?

Can you advise how to put back that change you made?

It’s really not looking good for my sites: https://www.countrymusic.co.uk/event/the-long-road/

We need a max width there i think.

Update on last post – the super-wide width was not caused by the Featured image. Instead it was caused by including an image in the event body text at “Full size”.

    Hello @2020media,

Thanks for the update. Should we assume this issue has been resolved for now?

We do believe that best way forward would be to provide granular control over event slideshow size. Although that will require some careful planning. It is one of our priorities right now, and we will roll out changes soon.

Thanks again for all the feedback so far!

FYI, folks, after a bunch of tests, I’ve determined the magic formula for the correct size event headers: 1920×800 at 144dpi, but leave at least 40 px margin top and bottom for any text content, as they will get cut off. That will work across all the places it needs to go!
