When I export a csv product file, make changes to the product data, e.g. edit the descriptions, and then re-import the same file, most columns map automatically, but I have to map the attribute columns manually.

I did not change the default CSV column names and used Google Sheets (not Excel) to edit the file.

This used to work but now even after I (sucessfully) import a csv product file, woocommerce “forgets” my preferences for Attribute 1 name, Attribute 1 value(s), Attribute 1 visible and Attribute 1 global and sets them all to “Do not import”.

Needless to say, it is pretty annoying to have to map those fields by hand every time. Does anyone have any tips?

    Hi @jenjenjet,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

If you use the plugin default attribute header names in the CSV file then the columns will be automatically mapped. The column headers that you mentioned seem to be exported using the WooCommerce default export tool and not our plugin i.e. Attribute 1 name, Attribute 1 value(s), Attribute 1 visible, and Attribute 1 global. Our plugin exports the attribute data with the column headers attribute:xxx and attribute_data:xxx

Could you please confirm if the CSV file you are trying to import is exported using our plugin itself? You can also download the sample attribute CSV from here.

Thanks for your prompt reply. You’re right – I was using the WooCommerce default export tool and not your plugin! My mistake for putting this in the wrong thread.
