I want to create a site simliar to this site…

    but my question is could I use wordpress for this, because I think they have a wordpress site and the main feature we want is to be able to show 3 or 4 videos how they have here going across and the actual video views or plays. Could something like this be easily done with a plug-in or something? because I’ve built a site with joomla, but I don’t think there’s an easy way to do what we want to do with the 3 or 4 videos going across showing the stats. We also want to be able to add more sections to the top menu bar is this easily done also?

  • It is a WordPress site – examine the source code for the page and you will find ‘WordPress 2.9.2’ as the generator.

    It does look like they have a custom theme, so there may have been quite a bit of coding involved. It is impossible to tell how much just from looking at the site.

    There are some great video themes you could use as a starting point. Just Google ‘WordPress video theme’ etc.

    You will find some fine free and commercial examples.. ??

    ok thanks guys… and that feature they have were you see the thumbnail of the video and the views or plays and when you click on the thumb it takes you to the actual video and the view are also there and the embed links etc. Is this some type of plugin I could add to wordpress to do this?

    A little late, but you should check out Video Thumbnails, it can help with some of the things you need.
