    Hello ,

I am getting the error Error: The response is not a valid JSON response. when attempting to set up Google Analytics in SiteKit.

Troubleshooting steps I’ve taken so far are:

Change PHP version to 7.3 – No effect. Returned to 8.0

Disable each plugin individually and retest between reactivations – no effect. Issue continues.

    Please assist with this issue?

    Thanks,

    Rowan

    Hi Rowan,

Thanks for reaching out, and sharing details of the troubleshooting steps you’ve already undertaken. As this specific error can have various caused please share the following and we can advise on this further:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.??
    2. Does this occur only if you select the option to create a new Analytics account/property, or does this also appear when selecting an existing account or property. I ask as we’ve encountered blocks at server level restricting new property set up only.
    3. Do you see any warnings or errors when checking yourSite Health status (Tools > Site Health > Status), which differs from your Site Health information requested above? Such errors may include REST endpoint references.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above.

    Hi,

the same issue I am facing as well, I am facing an “Invalid JSON error” when trying to update this page LESCO Online Bill.

I already tried deleting the .htaccess file and checked permalinks and website URLs, but nothing works for me. It works fine yesterday when I updated the FESCO page.
Not sure what happened today. i am afraid i don’t have any backup yet ;(

@nabeelahmedk55 If you’d like to open an individual support topic we can communicate with you from there. Please include any details relevant to what you’re experiencing. This may include sharing your Site Health information and a mention of whether you see this error with the Site Kit dashboards as opposed to when updating a page.

Note also that if this is occurring when updating a page this indicates an issue that isn’t specific to Site Kit, so you may wish to also post a topic in the fixing WordPress forums.

I’ll keep an eye out for your topic. Thank you!

As we didn’t receive a response I’ll mark this as resolved. Feel free to open a new support topic if you continue to encounter issues, or reopen this topic and we’d be happy to assist.
