HUGE Backup File Size – Maxed Out Google Drive Storage
-
Hi, for a while I was using a google account with 15gb of storage. This was constantly maxing out due to Updraft backups (that is the only thing I housed in that account), usually bringing me to about 16-17gb of storage in that google drive.
So I figured I’d switch it to another account that has 30GB of google storage (again, with nothing else in it, so no storage space to use up). Then I get an alert that that storage is being maxed out TOO! To about 32-35gb of storage. I can’t imagine why the backup size would magically increase overnight to be double like that, so what gives?
I see that I have A LOT of uploads and “others” files being backed up. But again, I don’t see why I would have magically went from Updraft only syncing ~15gb worth of files to ~30GB worth of files overnight, just by switching Google accounts.
Can you please tell me how to reduce the file size on these backups, and offer an explanation for this strange jump in size? This seems very excessive.
