After updating the plugin I finally got around to testing my installation with a test account. I created an account with a paid membership Role and couldn’t log in (user or pass not recognised). I decided to disable the “Disable Access to WP Dashboard” option. This solved the issue.

I don’t particularly need this to work as I plan on implementing a different log-in process. I just figured you should know about it. I’m happy to troubleshoot this issue with you if it turns out to be an issue unique to my installation.

    Thanks for the great plugin!

    Hi,

I created an account with a paid membership Role and couldn’t log in (user or pass not recognised).

Did you receive any error messages when you tried to log in as the new member? Did you tried to log in using the WP User login widget or the Membership login widget?

Remember when you enable “Disable Access to WP Dashboard” option, you will not have access to the WP Dashboard while login as a none admin account holder. You will only have access to the Simple Membership login/profile widget as a none admin member.

    Kind regards.

    Hi,

I received no error, just a page refresh and “username or password not recognised” notice. I can tell you for certain this isn’t user error as I use a password manager and the same password worked later.
I used the regular WP form also.

However, re-enabling the problematic option didn’t reproduce the problem, so I can’t tell you much more. Something very odd is happening that may be beyond your plugin. On the event that it is, I’m sorry I’ve wasted your time. I’ll troubleshoot further and either get back to you or mark this resolved.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Sorry for the big gap in time. I’ve been busy.
I’ve installed WP on localhost with no other plugins and the Twenty-Twentry Three theme. The embedded registration and login forms simply don’t work. The registration form refreshes the page and the login form refreshes the page and reports “No user found with that username or email.
There’s really no reason I can think of that it won’t work. For now I’ll make my own forms, so the issue isn’t urgent for me personally.

Hi, I just finished testing the registration and the login form in my dev site locally. I also used Twenty Twenty Three theme. I was able to register a new member and also log in.

What I did first, was to make sure the permalink structure was set up correct. Then I created a members level. I made sure I entered the membership level ID in the plugins settings under General Settings tab. Then I added one member to my list manually. I went to another browser and tested the login widget. This was successful. I then tested the registration form and I was able to register a different member and also log into the site without any issues.

However I did not test a paid registration process because locally this is not possible. But from my test above the login widget and registration form for Free membership levels works without an issue.

    Kind regards.

Sorry to waste your time. I am rebuilding from scratch. If it’s any consolation I’ll likely need one of your extensions soon.
