Ads being displayed on custom post types regardless of blacklist

No matter what I set in the blacklist, ads always display on my custom post types. For example, I don’t want any ads to show on any business profile posts but I do want them on regular blog posts. So, I blacklisted post-type:business (yes, I made sure it was an X, not a checkmark) but the ads still display. I even tried blacklisting urls and url parameters and still the ads were displayed. Just as a test, I blacklisted a specific post ID and the ads still displayed. This is very frustrating. What do I need to do to get this to work correctly?
