    This plugin was working great, then it just stopped working correctly. What I mean by that is we have over 50 authors in the system. On a couple of articles we had the wrong author listed. So when we try to change the author via “edit post”, it says it is changed, but will not display any author but the original one it was set too. When I deactivate this plugin the WordPress part works perfectly. It is happening when the plugin is active.

    So for instance, at the link I sent above the WordPress author field is set to Isaac Adams, AND the custom field name is set to “ppma_authors_name” with a value of “praypodgmail-com”. Click update and the author on the live page still shows the original one, Austin Suter.

    Please help and thank you!

    Hi @ascend2glory

    In simple way, the author box shows the wrong author, correct?

    If so, could you please try temporarily changing to other themes (like Astra or Generate Press) and see if the author is correctly shown there?

    Thanks,

    So I switched themes to Twenthy-twenty two and the authors box doesn’t even show. However, it did register the correct author via wordpress.

    We have almost 400 posts to migrate this week and I need this plugin to work right. Any idea how to get it to map correctly and stay mapped?

    Also, once I set an author, this plugin seems to remove the basic bulk author change feature within wordpress. Any idea why?

    Can you try Astra or GeneratePress theme?

    You should be able to see this option in bulk edit

    First off, thanks for your help.

    Second, thank God I backed up the site before switching themes. After the test when I switched back it messed up my site.

    Third, when I switched from Divi to Astra it still doesn’t allow me to switch authors in bulk or single posts. In bulk it’s not even an option that shows anymore unless I deactivate Authors.

    In the individual posts I can change the author, but it doesn’t change the author on record in Authors.

    Also. on the authors main page, it shows all the authors, but all the “Posts” counts show zero even though thye each have, and thankfully show multiple.

    I’d send you screenshots, but this system doesn’t allow it. Here’s the URL though if that helps: https://tothethroneofgrace.org/

    And to clarify, I can’t change post OR page authors.

    Sorry, can you state clearly what’s the issue is?

    Is it:

    • No option to change author in quick edit?
    • Cannot change author in single post or page?
    • Author box showing differences between the backend and frontend of the site?

    Since we can’t add screenshots, I made a page on the website that shows exactly what is going on via screenshots and live examples.

    All the info you need can be found here: https://tothethroneofgrace.org/publishpress-author-issues/

    There are 3 questions listed on that page

    Thanks for your help

    1. > When I create a new post or page while logged in as the admin, Authors automatically assign it to me and will not let me change it.

      We are almost quite sure there is a plugin conflict in this case. Because that is not what is supposed to happen. Please try deactivating all other plugins for testing, and see if the issue disappears. If yes, try to activate the plugin one by one to find the culprit.
    2. > How do I make all of the post titles ALL CAPS on the author pages?

      You can do that by applying the below custom CSS
    h2.ppma-grid-post-title.entry-title.title a {
        text-transform: uppercase;
    }

    3. > How do we list two authors for one post?

    This will require you to modify the single template of your theme. We have basic guidance here: https://publishpress.com/knowledge-base/authors-byline-theme/

    You can ask for your theme support to apply it by showing the above guidance. They should be able to help you.

    1. As for the plugin conflict, as soon as I deactivate Authors it works. So Authors is the problem. lol
    2. Thank you!
    3. Thanks!

    Also, is this the official support for the Authors plugin, or do they have a company support team? I’m very confused.

    Thread Starter David Pasqualone

    (@ascend2glory)

    And to be clear, I deactivated every plugin. This only happens when Authors is active. It is 100% an Authors plugin issue, not a conflict. I not only tested it in safe mode, but literally deactivated every single other plugin.

    That is quite strange as I cannot replicate your first issue. Can you inform what theme and what PHP version are you using?

    Thread Starter David Pasqualone

    (@ascend2glory)

    So I added two short videos so you can see this issue in action first hand. You can check them out at the same link: https://tothethroneofgrace.org/publishpress-author-issues/

    Also, I’m using PHP 7.4

    Your author setting in editing single post is different

    It should be look like this:

    Thread Starter David Pasqualone

    (@ascend2glory)

    Where are you in WordPress? Can you please give me the path to what you are talking about?

    Thread Starter David Pasqualone

    (@ascend2glory)

    So if I go to “Authors” > “Settings” > ” “Disable the “Authors” box when using “Quick Edit” ” I tried it not checked (what it has been), and checked. Neither work.

    Where were you in your screenshot?
