Site Health Not Working

Under “Site Health Status” on my Dashboard, both my main domain and subdomain have the message “Take a look at the?5 items?on the?Site Health screen.”
When I click on the above link AND when I go to the sidebar menu –> Tools –> Site Health, I get a mostly blank, white page, with the message: “There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.”
I’m not very adept at WordPress, but have built and managed my basic website for well over 10 years, so my knowledge is, I suppose, moderate pedestrian level.
Anyone know what’s going on? How I can access my Site Health details and, most importantly, how I can fix whatever needs fixing?
