• On a cloned copy of my production site, I am trying to update to the twentytwentythree theme.

While viewing the default Home template, the Query Loop shows posts the way it should, but when I am viewing my designated Front Page the Query Loop is blank.
I also tried copying the Query Loop from the Home template directly in to my actual Home / Front Page and the QL content shows fine in the editor, but not in the preview, nor on the page itself after saving.

Since this is a clone of a site that’s been around since 2011, I have many many pages and posts as well as calendar events and woocommerce content created on the original site.
I think there is some post type, tag, category, etc. that is breaking the normal usage of Query Loop, but I don’t know how to debug it.

    Any advice appreciated.

I should add that I’ve already disabled every plugin except WordFence.

How is your query block configured? Do you have “Inherit query from template” enabled for the block? If so, you may need to check the reading settings on your new site match the other version.

I don’t know why it’d display incorrectly in the editor compared to the frontend, though. That does sound unusual.

Hi, @talldanwp, I am just using the out-of-box theme, referencing the in-built “Home” template and yes it does have “Inherit query from template” enabled.

My guess remains that there is some very old content / ancient posts which may be causing the Query Loop to error out. But I don’t know how to get more debug info on it. I don’t see anything in the logs.
Any advice on that is greatly appreciated.

Here is what editing the homepage looks like. You can compare that to what the live site looks like at the link mentioned.

    This is still broken?
How do I enable further diagnostics, in case my suspicion is correct and some old content is breaking the query loop?
