    Hi,

I’m selling a product that I would like to be able to sell an installation fee. So the customer could buy the product and find someone to install the item themselves or have the option of paying for us to do the installation. I am wondering the best way to add this installation fee to my products so that it is optional. Do I require an add -on?

  • Hi, I think there’s a few plugin can do that. Personally I am using “Add Custom Fee to WooCommerce”. It is a free plugin, I only need 1 fee & the fee can be named anything..

So Customer will pay product price + additional fee.

ok great, can the customer choose not to take the fee? Some of my customers may want there own contractor do the installation

No, that plugin is for adding fixed fee. I think the one you need is something like this:

Advaced Product Fields (Product Addons) for WooCommerce

    Hi @hottubguysca ,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Based on what you have described wanting to achieve, the Product Add-ons extensions would be a great fit.

This extension allows you to add extra options to your products, such as installation fees, and customize them to meet your needs.

With Product Add-Ons, you can create different types of fields, such as checkboxes, to give your customers the option to select installation services or other add-ons.

You can also set different prices for each option, depending on the complexity of the installation or other factors.

WooCommerce.com offers a 30-day refund policy which you can take advantage of, allowing you to test the extension, and make sure that it is what you are looking for.

Should you have any pre-sales related questions, kindly contact us directly at WooCommerce.com > My Account > Support. You will need to create an account if you do not have one already.

    Hope this helps!
