    Hi,

I am using ver2.0x in one of my site and much nicer than ver1.4x.

But I found a bug. When I edit any Japanese text using Roman character using Mozc in uBuntu PC, the first letter is not converted into Japanese. For instance, when I enter “ohayou”, it should be converted into “おはよう” but instead it ends up “oはよう”. “おはよう” means “good morning”. When I delete the first letter and retype it again, it converts it correctly. This problem happens only the first time when I try to edit anything in empty cell. If there is any character such as space in the cell before any character I start entering, it converts correctly.

    Examples are like below

    • oはよう ohayou (it is supposed to mean “good morning”)
    • sアンキュウ sankyu (it is supposed to mean “thank you”)
    • kおうもく koumoku (it is supposed to mean “items”)
    • bいこう bikou (it is supposed to mean “remarks”)

I understand that Japanese character conversion on uBuntu may not be the high priority but I would like to report this bug hoping that this will be fixed in the near update.

By the way, I tried to upload images but uploading was blocked for some reasons.

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

I’m not familiar with Mozc on Ubuntu, so unfortunately, I can’t really tell why this is happening ??

Just to confirm, is this also happening when you first double-click into a cell (so that you see the blinking cursor), or only if you paste this into a cell after just clicking on it once (or after navigating there e.g. with the Tab key on the keyboard)?

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,

This occurs that I start typing right after entering the cell by double-click.

I tried on Windows and this problem doesn’t occur on Windows.

So, it’s not a big deal for now. I was just hoping that this might be fixed in the future by letting you know of this.

Anyway, thank you always for you reply. I at least became to understand.

    Best regards,

    Junji

    Hi,

thank you for testing this! I will definitely keep this in mind when testing further, but right now I can’t see a reason as to why TablePress could be causing this ??

    Best wishes,
    Tobias
