    Hi,

I would like to know if it could be possible to achieve the following:

Assign a certain schema to wordpress categories through Edit schema -> "Microdata Type URLs" or "Same-As URLs" and then when I publish a post within that same category, inject into the post the schema previously assigned to the category, in addition to the markup of each post.

For example, if I have a category called “Dali’s paintings” and then I write several posts that talk about Dali, I will have to fill in the same Wikidata identifier [https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q5577] in each of them. It would be great if I could assign that markup directly to the category and then have it automatically show up in each of the posts.

I hope the explanation wasn’t too confusing !

    Thank you in advance

Yes, your question is a bit confusing. ?? WordPress taxonomy terms are archive pages, and as such are almost exclusively a Schema ItemList type (see https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/structured-data/carousel). Posts can inherit certain Schema property values from their parents, but that requires a post parent/child hierarchy. Taxonomy terms can also inherit certain Schema property values from their parents, but again, that requires a term parent/child hierarchy. There is no inheritance between terms (categories and tags, for example) and posts, as posts can have multiple terms and is not an existing parent/child relation that WordPress supports. Some default values can be defined in the SSO > Advanced Settings > Schema Defaults metabox, but these are for Schema types, not post types. If your content uses a custom post type, you could always choose a Schema type in the SSO > Advanced Settings > Document Types metabox, and then define some default values by Schema type, although the current list of default options does not include microdata type or sameas URLs, but that’s not a bad idea. Which Schema type were you considering for your posts?

@jsmoriss thank you for your prompt response. I have found another plugin that does what I need.
    Thanks!
