Missing Post Excerpt At Homepage Theme Twenty Twenty-Three

Hi @steinhoefel1 – I can definitely see what you mean when viewing the site – there’s no excerpts shown for the posts. I’m not able to recreate that in my testing – so there’s a few additional things that would be helpful to know.

1. Does this still happen when you have all plugins disabled?
2. Could you please open the template in the Site Editor and then open the list view. A screenshot of the structure of the template (shown in the list view) would be helpful to see more.

Hi @jordesign – Thanks for your help. Even after deactivating all plugins (all deactivated at the same time), the post excerpts are still missing in the frontend.
These plugins are installed:
Akismet, All In One SEO (AIOSEO), Contextual Related Posts, o42-clean-umlauts, Revision Control, UpdraftPlus, WP Sitemap Page, WPCode Lite

Backend screenshot Homepage: I don’t know details, but maybe it’s a translate problem? All blocks are in german language, but “Post Excerpt” is in English.

If I set the blog to English in the general settings, the error can still be seen.

It’s definitely a little odd to see the excerpt listed there as ‘Post Excerpt’. In my testing with the site language set to German I do see that block showing up as ‘Beitragsauszug‘.

Would you be able to try removing that block in the Template – and then try re-inserting a ‘Beitragsauszug’ block?

I’m having the same problem. Twenty Twenty-Three theme. For the Post Excerpt the Add “Read More” link text appears in the editor, but not on the front page.

After WordPress update to 6.2.1 the problem is fixed. Thanks for your support. Maybe it was a translate problem. All blocks are in german language, but “Post Excerpt” was in English. After update 6.2.1 all blocks are titled in German (blog settings are German too).
