I just upgraded WP to 6.2. After entering the post or page editing window, or when adding a new post or page, I cannot enter any SEO data in Yoast SEO. You can see SEO, Readability, Schema, Social media tabs. I can click on the tab but nothing develops. There was a similar problem once. I had to go back a few versions but then somehow it was fixed. However, I am having this problem again.

    Hi @rmorek , @donix ,

We apologize for the inconvenience you are having with the Yoast SEO plugin.

Usually, these problems occur when there is a conflict with another plugin or theme that breaks the functionality. Can you please check the browser console for errors and send us a screenshot? You can find more information here: How to find JavaScript errors with your browser’s console?

Also, it might be useful to run a conflict check to verify what could be causing the conflict. The fastest way to rule out any conflict is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty-Two.

Please test this on your development or staging site if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

Can you please let us know if you find any additional information that can help us find the cause of the problem?

The old WP Edit plugin by Josh Lobe causes this conflict. I just prefer the old editor over the new one. Old, as you know, is rarely developed. The WP Edit plugin provides several functionalities that make it easier for me to write content. I turned it off and the Yoast SEO plugin works fine.

As I wrote in my other comments (which were deleted I don’t know why) I tested all the plugins and there is no conflict. Yoast started working again on its own after this verification

    Hi @audiax , @rmorek

Thanks for getting back with confirmation about the issues. Can you confirm that the problems are now resolved?

Regarding the use of the WP Edit plugin, unfortunately, if it’s no longer mantained this can cause incompatibilities not only with Yoast SEO, but with WordPress itself. Our recommendation is to find an alternative that still being supported.

I switched to the Gutenberg editor with an extension plugin. I am not happy but I have no alternative. Problem has been solved. Thanks for the suggestion and good luck.

I have the same issue but I didn’t add extra plugins and it was working perfect till 2 days (or something like that) ago

Was having same issue, thanks everyone!
