– Please also check if you have a cache plugin installed. If so, please disable it temporarily, and check if it’s ok now

If it’s not could you please post a screenshot of your selections in question number 3 in the plugin?

I have a question. If it is the browser cache does that mean users will have to clear their caches as well? In order to see the icons etc?

No, browsers refresh their cache automatically after some time period.

Really I’m just looking to get the basics up and then work from there. I have disabled all the various plugins and tested for conflicts. I have another site I’ll try it on just to compare too.

By the way… I’ve tried all the various settings under #3. I’d probably be ok if I could get the widget option to work. I was just trying to get the basics working etc. A widget in the left hand sidebar would be fine. I’m partly interested in configuring the social media posting output and the images SEO info. I’d like science fiction icons but I don’t need a lot of them or whatever.

Could a plugin that is deactivated be causing the problem? I’ve actually uninstalled some but if that is a possibility I’ll take a couple others out.

The “place icons after posts” option is not selected looking at the screenshot you provided.

Does your theme support widgets? If it does, go to your theme’s widget area and insert the “Ultimate Social Media” widget (see https://screenpal.com/i/c0fe6tVaT6f) into the preferred location.
