• Hey, we are using the plugin and it seems to work well it misses a few people every now and again but the reason I am contacting you is to see if there is anything in the plugin that might cause some people to not see the channels every now and again.

    We have several members over the last few weeks that have experienced all the channels and categories in our server just disappear. The only fix usually is to have them log out and then back in of discord itself, sometimes disconnecting and reconnecting from the website works. But in extreme cases we have had to get them to uninstall and reinstall Discord.

    So we were wondering if you’ve ever experienced this. We are members of a good amount of other servers and never experience this ourselves on those other servers in 4+ years of using Discord the only discernible difference is the plugin and connection to a website.

    We have never received this type of complaint from our users until now.
    We test all the updates of our Add-ons before publishing them, I have just reinstalled the latest published version and everything works as expected.
    In your case, it could be for several reasons:
    Users have a valid and unexpired membership?
    Someone with the appropriate permissions accidentally deleted all the channels and categories?
    It’s also possible that the server experienced a technical issue that caused all the channels and categories to disappear?

    Thanks for replying, it was really a hope that perhaps you had seen this happen before. Everything you suggest we have already ruled out but it’s good to have a list from you to validate we did check all the right things.

    If it happened to everyone then it would be an easy problem to identify but this happens at random to at least 2-3 people per day. All with valid memberships usually we can get them sorted by having them do the things I outlined above.

    Hi, @islandpublishing I don’t see any reason at the moment for active members to lose roles and lose visibility to private channels.

    There must be some action/events happening on the website that invoke API calls :

    • Did you check server audit logs and can confirm the website bot removing roles?
    • Any other bot having permission to manage roles?
    • 3rd party apps with permissions to manage roles?

    Sorry I was not clear the members roles are not being changed or removed when this happens.

    No other third party bot in charge of roles.

    I’ll check logs, thank you but users are not losing their role to access the private channels.
