How to DELETE a widget (not just remove it from sidebar

  • I want to remove the SUBSCRIBE widget. I can remove it from the sidebar area, but I want to not have it even listed as a widget on the left hand side of availalble widgets.

    How does one

    DELETE it from wp install altogether??

    It is not listed as a plugin, where do I look in FTP to delete it from the wp-content folder

  • ‘subscribe’ is not a default wordpress widget.
    if it is not from one of the plugins, there is a possibility, that the code for it might be in functions.php of the theme.

    using Thesis 1.7 on wp301

    appearance>>widgets in lef thand column a widget appears named

    “Subscriptions”

    For security reasons I want to unregister the f%@cker and delete from my site.

    I cannot find hide nor hair of this widget in functions.php or anywhere else

    where is it hiding?
