• Hello

Since the default theme fonts (Poppins and Heebo) have no support for cyrillic characters, I switched them for Montserrat and Roboto, through the global font settings. The fonts did change in the gutenberg editor but they aren’t loaded when the actual page is opened. I can see that the correct font family is set in the css, but the actual font isn’t loaded, so the text uses some random serif fallback font.

I know a workaround for this is using @import in the custom css field and adding the font there, I’m just wondering if there’s something else I’m missing? Shouldn’t the font just load if it exists in the font list in the global settings? It does work when inside the editor, just not when you view the actual page.

    Hi @emowebhemm

Do you have any live site I could check?
I need to check why the fonts not loading.

    Hi,
No, unfortunately, the site isn’t live yet, sorry ??
I imported them through the custom css, so I have a workaround at least.

If it helps some – the default theme fonts (Poppings and Heebo) are the only ones loading. If I delete the fonts directory inside wp-content, it regenerates and it still only contains the two default fonts (even though in the global font variables, I’ve selected “Montserrat” and “Roboto”).

    Hi @emowebhemm

Could you send some screenshots of the editor and the frontend?
